John McCain Fort Dix NJ Rally 6-13-08

I took these photos on the campus of Burlington Community College in Pemberton, New Jersey, very close to the Fort Dix military base. The crowd was waiting in line to see John McCain speak at a town hall meeting taking place inside the college's gymnasium. This event was held back in June of 2008, after McCain had secured the nomination but well before the Republican National Convention and the nomination of Sarah Palin as VP. This town hall meeting was one of only a handful of McCain campaign events to be held in New Jersey, a state widely expected to go to Obama. In November, McCain lost the New Jersey vote by over 15 points.
